Hama: Architects

Date: 1134-35

An inscription records that Baqi b. Salim b. Asad was responsible for the construction of the minaret of the Congregational Mosque of Hama in 529/1134-35. See also: Stone-cutter; Mason; Carpenter.

Hama: Architects

Date: 1188

An inscription records that in 588/1188 ʿAli al-Maʿarri built the minaret of the ʿUmari mosque in Hama for Amir Najm al-Din Altutan. The architect’s nisba, al-Maʿarri, indicates that he came from the Syrian town of Maʿarrat al-Nuʿman. See also: Stone-cutter; Mason; Carpenter.
