A’zaz: Cotton Cultivators and Manufacturers

Sir John Bowring (d. 1872), the city of A’zaz engaged with the production of cotton crops and fabrics. During this period, A’zaz produced 600-700 qinṭārs of cotton (1 Syrian qinṭār = 256.4 kg). See also: Cotton Weaver; Dyer and Textile Printer.
