Aleppo: Weavers of Tent Fabrics

Date: c. 1990

Professional weavers produce strips of tent cloths and ribbons for the use of Bedouin, and others who live in tents for some or all of the year. These materials could be made by Bedouin women themselves in the past, but there were also purchased in the sūqs of cities such as Aleppo. See also: Wool Weaver; Cotton Weaver.
