Aleppo: Textile Manufacturers
Date: 1909
Photograph (J_059) taken by Gertrude Bell in 1909 shows lengths of dyed fabric hanging from the roof and balcony of the interior of Khan al-Wazir in Aleppo. It is not clear whether this material was manufactured on or near this site, though it seems probable. A second photograph of the same date (J_061) shows lengths of fabric hanging from the roof on the exterior façade of the same building.
