Aleppo: Tailors
Date: c. 1671
In his description of a festival called the Zina, the Venetian traveller, Ambrosio Bembo (d. 1705), observed that each guild participated in a procession around the city dressed in costumes. The guild of tailors possessed a float carrying a tailor working on a robe.
